DR800 SR43A Tank for swap

Postby nickmill » Wed Dec 07, 2016 12:48 pm

Just replaced my tank with a non leaky one.
The leaky, previously repaired one, is now available. With it comes the fuel cap, minus a key. Spare or repair.
After hearing how pricey these can be,someone here said up to 900€ in Deutschland,
I thought my good fortune (finding a rust free , reasonably priced tank ), should be carried on to someone else.

I would like to exchange my tank & cap for a proper decal sticker set. As long as they are exact copies, or originals, I do not mind. When I was in the UK a mate scanned an original, and his mate computerised it , and printed exact copies on exact material. They are too rule & patent happy 'En France' for me to ask..

My bike is all red!

My tank ,pictured, weeps on the left, and probably wept on the right. I saw a repair kit, consisting of a resin procedure for 70€ ish..
The same reparation has been done to both sides.
The buyer / swapper will have to pay the postage from France or collect.
I am flexible & will pack & post, to anywhere, you just have to pay. probably about 25€ ish ish
If it is worth a punt for anyone, please let me know asap.
All the best.

Chucked it in 'Le dechetterie', but kept the cap & tap... Shame.

Better off chucking the tank in the nearest canal tbh. Who the f@ck wants a leaky tank ? You didn't ! so why would anybody else want one ?

I'll give anybody the benefit of the doubt, but after this post of yours it is apparent that you are somewhat detached from the real world.

If for some bizzare reason you don't manage to swap the tank for a set of genuine stickers or a Bugatti Veyron, please get in touch as I have one of Tutankahmun's testicles which I have been unable to shift on ebay & would be happy to do a straight swap

Thanks Nug, I normally function on the "One mans muck... another mans brass".
I cannot braize metal, but I believe some can.
I asked for some stickers, genuine or otherwise to respect copyrites.. patents etc, out of respect for the forum .
For the price of a bit of sticky backed plastic, and 10 mins scanning & printing a scrap repairable tank could be swapped.
It may not be something you think equates fair, but with respect I don't care.
I'll pass moderators, and treat with respect, but sarcasm from a "Non Virgin" must be challenged.
It was mooted a tank on German Ebay is quite expensive, so I thought a whippet owner in a shed could sort it.
As to Tuts testes, you are correct... Bolloxs

I suggest, with respect, detractors should firstly glance at previous posts to ascertain the translation of dechetterie or affix ones lunettes correctly..
