DR 800 Yolks wanted

Postby lawrence_dr800 » Sat Oct 15, 2011 6:31 pm

Hello!
My name is Lawrence. I'm from Bucharest, Romania.
I've recently bought a 1993 DR 800 and the yolks are a bit twisted. When the front wheel is lined up straight the handlebars are turned to the left. The forks are straight, so there's no problem with those.

So, does anyone have DR 800 yolks for sale?

I would say its impossible to damage the actual individual yokes & cause the problem you describe. The yokes may be misaligned but this is purely a case of loosening the forks & the top spindle nut & reset it in true alignment. The lower yoke is steel & the top yoke aluminium & they do not bend or twist. They can only misalign between themselves & the forks dont have to be bent for this to happen. Also check your handlebars are straight as a very slight bend due to dropping the bike etc can give the same effect. Good luck & let us know what you find.

Hello! I finally bought a DR 800 for parts. The bottom yokes on mine were twisted. I took the ones from the other bike. So i solved my problem and I also have many more spare parts. I really love this bike.
