Give us a clue - who are you?

Hola from Spain

Postby Tattoo2851 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 10:53 am

Hi everyone, I am restoring a 1989 DR800s and enjoying all the small challenges....clutch cable retainer snapped off housing...missing tank rubbers ...lots of non standard rusty bolts etc...But I'm getting there :D The Exhaust can is badly corroded so I've cut it open and am making new baffle plates and diffuser tubes as I need the original can on the bike so it can pass, hopefully, a Spanish ITV test.
I'll post photos once I can get the hang of this site !

The 800 was made from 1990-97 so definitely not an 89.
Is it a Spanish or UK model?

Bigbob,

Yep, just checked the documents, imported into Spain April 1990. I stand corrected :eh: Its Spanish reg'd and been standing for years so I'll get it running and use in the riverbed where my house is, once I know everything is ok I'll put new tyres on and take it for its ITV test.
