I think I need to adjust my throttle cable a bit as opens up when I turn handlebars left but should be easy. I laughed as left bike at garage and went to the cafe the tester rang me up “Er how do you start your bike mate?”

Just out for a bimble it reminds me of the Royal Enfield Bullet so much I had a couple of scary moments going down a gear instead of braking! Its like the Royal Enfield went into a chrysalis and came out a DR Big. I did go up a big hill Bury Hill near me on the A29 and noticed some buzzy vibes if I gripped the tank with my legs going up the hill in third at 45 to 50. Also just put 33 quids worth of Texacos Super 98 Unleaded in filling both tanks. Just having coffee admiring the bikes :)

Done over 100 miles today since my oil troubles so think I will change the oil and filter to get out any bits. I notice a couple of things my beak flaps are missing their fixings so vibrate a lot I need to sort that. I think a lot of vibes are due to my knobbly tyres so might get a set if those ebay ones for 99 quid eventually.

Just got in from my ride ended up at Selsey:

Its probably not the best oil I am putting in either but with my new piston and balancer chain etc I am kind of in a breaking in stage so will be doing a few changes in close succession. Another 500 miles and I might put some proper bike oil in and another filter.

That btw is the cheapest engine oil from Euro Car Parts I think £12 for 5l I put it in my scooby once and it didn't last long and caused some awful knocking noises when cold starting in the winter ok for what I am doing I think. I put super unleaded in today as Big Bob reckons these run better on it also will clean the carbs and tank etc maybe ;) Its funny on my VTX 1800c it is the opposite super unleaded fouls my plugs on that!

For decades I ran my Bigs on 10/40 mineral oil for cars with no issues at all.
Now it`s virtually unobtainable I use semi synthetic and change it every 2k.

It`s probably fine in the summer but may be too thick in really cold weather.
