Wheel rebuild

Postby Mick75 » Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:53 am

While changing tire's recently I found a couple of broken rear spokes so I decided to do a full wheel rebuild front and rear, ordered spoke kits from CMSNL, cut out the old spokes got the rims powder coated, started the re spoke on the front all went well, moved on to the rear only to find half the spokes missing from the kit do'h, rang CMSNL they were very polite and sent out a new set without any hassel, so waiting for them to arrive before I can finish, suppose it's my own fault I should have checked the packages before cutting up the old spokes, when I get the new kit I may have some spare rear spokes for the drum brake rear wheel if anyone needs a couple

I`ve done several sets of wheels but I used s/steel spokes rather than OE.
It takes a bit of practice to get it right but well worth the effort.

Finally got around to finishing my wheel rebuild, wasn't too difficult but required patients to get right

I got the bike from a guy in Meath But I see from the old log book it spent a few years in Douglas area of Cork, the rims were powder coated at Tallaght powder coating for €120, I'm in Dublin
