Questions regarding the DR800

Clocks

Postby Chris1215 » Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:44 pm

Hi all. Has anyone got a set of clocks for sale or has anyone replaced the clocks for a digital set that dose not take a mayor rewire to fit. My speedo never worked and now the rev counter needle has snapped off. Thanks for any help.

Hi chris,
I have a KMH speedo and a rev counter (swapped to a MPH one). One mount has broken on the speedo, but it wasn't a problem when fitted on my bike. I guess they were from an earlier model DR600/650, but they fitted my 1990 650RS.
See below :

Wasn't aware, untill removal, that one mount was broken. The clocks I bought have been repaired as well, but are very solid.

Hope they work :?:

This is the dirty/rusty mess before stripping........

Any Good ?

I remember comparing the SR43 and SR41/42 clocks some years ago and they are completely different and won`t swap over.

That's a shame, I'll put them in my parts box, you never know if I'll need them in the future.

Thanks anyway Rob. If I can get a speedo a will take the rev counter of you Nug. It might be easier to get a digital set up. If I can find one that will fit easy enough.

Got a rev counter of nug yesterday. Big thanks for that. But I'm still in need of a speedo if anyone got they would like to sell.
