Standard jetting is normally fine. I have done airbox mods, large header pipe and GSXR silencer and ended up going back to standard jetting as it worked best. just make sure you do a plug check to make sure it not too lean. If it rides fine then it probably is ok.

Would the carb air vent pipe be useful as an emergency overflow ?
If you leave it down it let's overfilled fuel out.
So surely if you either cut it short by the carb or T into it it would show and the bike from overflowing into the motor ?
I will no doubt get the gurus saying
"Don't be silly !?"

The fuel will get into the motor before it flows out of that breather. You could do what I did and fit SR43 float bowls which have built in overflows.
