Does this look dodgy to you?

Postby knobblywobbly » Fri Apr 05, 2013 7:59 am

I’m watching a moped on ebay at the moment (for my wife mainly, but also for me to mess about on) which has never been road registered as it’s been used as a “paddock bike”. What bothers me about it is that the VIN plate hardly has any information on it other than the frame number. It also looks like normal “pop rivets” have been used to fit it – I thought it was normal to use some form of closed/solid rivet for fitting these.
What do you reckon? Dodgy or OK?

Its a gut feeling thing, if its too cheap, or appears too much of a bargain then walk away!, however the engine no should be similar or include part of the numbers and letters, included in the frame/chasis number, hope this helps?

I did

It was originally registered in Italy by the 1st owner who then brought it back to the UK. They then sold it to a guy who used to do rallying - he used the bike as a pit bike and to do a run around the rally course to see what the terrain/bends were like before heading out in the rally car.

I now own it - and have have regressed 35 years. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to ride on the pavement and terrorise pedestrians in shopping centres. Good job I was wearing my hoody so I can't be recognised

Looks a laugh. I got my lad a Suzuki DS80 which I was thinking about making road legal...good alternative to a chink pitbike or monkeybike.
