Petseal

Has anyone used Petseal or there DR's tank?, I've heard good things about it, but never had the need to use it before; or any other recommendations folk have used to seal the petrol tank?

Unfortunately the inside of my tank is peeling/flaking/rusting and crud is blocking the petrol tap, so a new tap on order to

Petseal sounds like something you give your cat when its got the Squitters :wtf:

I have never used it but I have used a similar thing from Eastwood a few years back. I had a Jeep fuel tank with some perforations in. I removed it & gave it a good flush with hot water & TFR followed buy a good purging with compressed air. I then cleaned up the tank with a rotary wire brush. I soldered all the perforations rather then try to weld or braze them. The Eastwood kit came with a metal prep solution which etched the inside of the tank ready to accept the tank liner. It was basically a kind of 2 pack paint which you had to roll around inside to get an even coating. Good gear but a bitch ton remove if you spill it on anything.

Pissed myself reading that lol.

After much mulling over and copious cups of coffee drank, a square section from the top of the tank is going to be cut out, tank is going off to get vapour blasted, re welded, then sealed and a new fuel tap inserted, hopefully that'll be job done ;)
